What is a record label? Record labels are companies that produce, distribute and promote the songs and content that artists create. What’s the different between big labels and independent labels? The ‘big four’ record labels; EMI, SONY, UNIVERSAL and WARNER are major conglomerates. This means that they own and profit off of many other smaller labels, for example: Columbia Records and Capitol.   EQ is is a way to edit frequencies within a chosen track to get your desired sound. It can also balance out the dynamics of clashing instrumentation.  I utilised the parametric EQ in logic to tweak my instrument, turning down the frequencies to stay between 200 to 1K Hz to get a less snappy and smooth sounding piano chord.
